Sara Yedlik was born and raised on her family farm in rural Vinton. She graduated from Vinton-Shellsburg High School, Luther College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education, and Drake University with a Master of Science in Educational Leadership.
She is currently in her twenty-third year of teaching and is an educator in the Cedar Rapids CSD and has served on the Board of Educational Examiners for the past eight years since she was appointed by the governor in 2014. She also has served as a teacher leader for her district and at the Iowa State Education Association as well as serving as a member of the Teacher Leadership Initiative with the National Education Association.
Sara is a married mother of two and lives in Vinton where she grew up. Her husband is a mechanic for Cedar Falls Construction. Her daughter is studying agriculture business management at Hawkeye Community College and her son is a junior at Vinton-Shellsburg High School.
Sara appreciates the joys and benefits of rural Iowa and believes in putting trust in local hands. Her goal is to support rural Iowans, raising the voices and enhancing the lives of those in House District 84 first and foremost.
